Packet Pick Up Details: Photo ID Required
Packet pick up for this year’s Door County Triathlon will take place at the event site, Murphy Park. Packet pick up for both events will be available on Friday, July 15th from 2 pm until 8 pm. On Saturday, Sprint participants may pick up their packets from 5:30 am until 7:30 am before the 8 am start of their event. Half Iron participants may pick up their packets on Saturday from 10 am until 6 pm or on Sunday (race day) from 5:30 am until 7:30 am before the 8 am start. PER USA TRIATHLON GUIDELINES, ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST PICK UP THEIR OWN PACKET AND MUST PRESENT PHOTO ID IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THEIR PACKETS. At least one member must present a Photo ID to pick up their packet.
2011 Door County Triathlon Sold Out
The July 16-17, 2011 Door County Triathlon sold out to its maximum capacity of 2,000 participants on June 6, 2011. There are exactly 1,000 individuals and teams registered for the Saturday, July 16th Sprint Distance Triathlon and 1,000 individuals and teams registered for the Sunday, July 17th Half Iron Triathlon. It is no longer possible to register for either event. Because we permit transfers from athlete to athlete, we maintain NO WAIT LIST. Individuals interested in participating in this year’s edition of the Door County Triathlon are encouraged to monitor the event’s Facebook page (link at left) for people seeking to sell their entry. Transfers are permitted PRIOR TO JULY 1st. Registration for the 2012 race will open on January 1st, as always.
Question of the Month: Transfers
How do I transfer a registration?…
Not surprisingly, with the events sold out early this year, a lot of people have been asking this question. The process is fairly simple: The seller (transferor) and the buyer (transferee) of a registration should first negotiate and complete payment between themselves either by check, Paypal, bartering or however you choose. Once payment has taken place, the buyer (transferee) should complete the Offline Transfer Form [This was removed on July 1, 2011.] as well as the attached waiver and mail both documents to the address on the form. The transfer will then be processed manually. ALL TRANSFERS MUST TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO JULY 1ST. AFTER JULY 1ST, NO TRANSFERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Less than 50 Spots Left!
As of June 1st, there are less than 50 spots left in the seventh annual Door County Triathlon taking place July 16-17, 2011. The Half Iron event sold out in early April. The Sprint Distance Triathlon is expected to sell out within the next few days.
HALF IRON SOLD OUT, SPRINT AT 800
The 2011 edition of the Door County Triathlon is rapidly approaching full capacity. The Half Iron sold out in early April. At the end of April, the Sprint Distance Triathlon is already at 800 registrants and filling quickly. Those who did not register in time may still find a registrant willing to sell them their entry. The DCT does allow transfers at no charge prior to July 1st. Participants interested in finding someone willing to sell their entry are encouraged to check out the event’s Facebook page (CLICK HERE).
